day 8 - setup

This is the setup I used today in the park for a bunch of free portraits. It was an interesting experience. A bunch of people stopped by, a bunch of people ran away. Well, not really... but they politely declined.

day 5 - hard work for pumpkin pies

When on your way home your wife says to stop by that pumpkin patch where you took the kids pictures a couple of weeks ago and you naturally ask if you can wait in the car while she picks up a few pumpkins for more pumpkin pie and then you see her pick up a heavy red wheel-barrow then as a gentleman you know you should get out of the car, grab the camera and take a picture.

365 day 3 - fun biker

I saw this guy bike ahead of me while I was driving and immediately was thankful for power windows. I grabbed my camera, rolled down the window and shot this guy dead. He was a fun guy. I pulled over and as he came close, stopped by my car and asked me where I was headed. He offered to ride by so I could get an action shot but since I only had a 50mm prime I figured it wasn't going to work to well. Plus I was going to turn left at the next stop light and the traffic wasn't quite like in Boise, Idaho either. Fun little encounter. There goes my idea about having a little number in each photograph (for the first few at least; notice the lone tree, leaf, then the two hand framing David Crowder and then, this guy. I guess if I told you he was doing 3x the speed limit you wouldn't believe me, but i'm pretty sure he was. At least he maybe wished he had. Or maybe not. I dunno. I'm just sayin'... There goes day 3.

365 day 2

Even though it's late, it is still the second day. Yesterday for my first post I was tweaking with format (html, blogger, color profiles for web) and what have you, so the post might have shown up as today in some time zones. The point is not the "publishing" them every day, but making them every day.

I just got home from a concert. It's 23:15 so I'm waiting for the pics to come of my slooow card reader. I could have mailed them to me and it might have been faster. Truth is, at 28 mb a piece, it takes a while. Shot some video as well. That goes on that internet site... what's it called... youSomething. It'll be my first. See what happens. I know close friends would love to see those. So here goes day 2.

365 day 1

Great, here I go with a project that I hope I am going to finish. I will try my own version of 365. In case you are not familiar with this concept, it means 365 photographs in one year. That should come down to like... umm,... one picture a day. Let's see how it goes. The only rules are: that there should be one photograph every day and I should like it. Granted, the second rule is subjective, because in a couple of days/weeks/months/hours I might not like it anymore. But, oh well, it's a learning process. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.
I strongly believe that no one would even read this post for... ummm, a few good months. Brownie points for the first comment left here. Surprise surprise if you send me a private comment with your e-mail address - I'm thinking of maybe sending you a signed professional museum quality print. Now, there some incentive. God bless you. Enjoy.
